Tina - I'm so glad to hear that they think think they are benign cysts, but I can see why you would want to check more thoroughly. How is your back/neck feeling since the accident?
I almost feel guilty saying that it is another beautiful day outside. We have the biggest bumble bees that hang out next to our family room window around dusk and I love to watch and listen to them (from the other side of the screen!)
Sharona - has your grandson been to Russia before? That will be so good for your DIL to see her family. I hope that 'yuck' guy has not showed up around her house again?
Chriss - what a fun thrift find! The rummage sales had their unofficial kick-off last weekend so I hope to hit some this weekend. They had a really large one to benefit the Ronald McDonald house, and it just seems to get bigger every year. I bought one quilty book for $.50 so that was my big purchase!
Dorothy - we are working on things this year with the hope of heading west in a year, so it will take some time. I am so thankful that David understands the importance of being close to my parents as we are it - my brother died almost 10 yrs ago. It will be hard on David's parents, but they are younger than my parents and his brother is close by them and his sister is within a few hours of them.
Maryz - what good news that Jim will be out soon! Which quilt did you make for him, and which quilt was for your brother who has cancer? (that is how I 'know' them!)
Maryq - Any updates from Jen? Is she hanging in there?
Well, the pastor is not here yet and I'm not sure if I should wait or run with the bulletin as-is. Hmmmm...
Have a great weekend,
Karlene

Re: Friday, May 3rd
Good morning all. Hope everyone is having as good of weather as we are here in NW Ohio. Had a wonderful time at the quilt show this year. The quilts were beautiful, but I have to find out how quilts are judged at the shows. The ones that I thought should get ribbons got nothing and some that got ribbons were "downright" ugly. I know that alot of work goes into all quilts, but some winners were not in my book. If anyone knows of an article or video on quilt judging please let me know. I really want to learn. I went by myself. None of my my friends are quilters and are not interested in it. May-be I should get new friends. LOL I didn't take my camera this year. Of course went and spent money in the Quilt Shop.
Sharona - Sauder Village is in Archbold Ohio which is in the northwest corner of the state. It is about 2 hours due north of Dayton.
Judie - Glad to hear you are getting another person addicted to getting a stash. I know mine has almost become an obsession.
Kathy - Glad your daughter is on the mend. It will be a long journey, but she will be in my prayers. Keep us posted.
Jules - Hope everything goes well for you I will keep you in my prayers.
Tina - I understand about the biopsy. It is better than not knowing. I will keep you in my prayers also.
Suzette - I must really be behind. I didn't know about your new job. What kind is it? With all of your quilting I don't know how you find time. You are definately an organized person. Hope it goes well. You will do fine.
Cindyg - Atlanta trip? How far away is it. Are you visiting friends or going to a quilt show? No matter have a good time. I really enjoyed my visit to your city of Houston 2 weeks ago. I just can't believe all of your traffic.
Well better go now and finish my coffee so I can actually get back to my sewing. Since I have been sick the last week with a horrible cold I have not gone into my sewing room. I am even going to try and get Dear Jane out this weekend. Of course it will have to be in between watching all of my Kentucky Derby Day horse races.
Have a good day everyone.
Sherry

Good Morning Girls!
HAPPY FRIDAY! Only 4 more days of WORK! Will have a busy weekend getting room mate moved in and doing all the laundry and getting suitcase ready!
Yesterday one of my co-workers was escorted out and fired on the spot.. not sure of all the details, but she was one of the gals that was going to work the new "over night" shift. So now I am really tempted to volunteer to work over nights. I'd work 7 days straight 9pm -7am but then have 7 days OFF! Just think of the sewing and chores I could get done with 7 days off in a row! It is so tempting!!! The other advantage is I wouldn't have to answer the phone constantly! I just don't know how well I would sleep during the day! Will have to think about it.
Karlene... Jen is hanging in there... she had a tough day yesterday, some back pain and she isn't sleeping well. She goes to the Dr today and will get checked for dilation. She's going to text me when she gets out. I would so love to be there when he is born, but if she goes before.. that would be nice for her!!
Chriss...Thanks for the Tute on the binding. I think I'll save it to "favorites" and come back later and watch it again. Looks easy enough. No hexies for me! LOL. I did pack some charm squares and I ordered some darling charms and am having them mailed to Jen's. There's a darling pattern at MSQCo. to make a little girl skirt using charms.. so maybe I'll sew a skirt for Kaya while I'm there.
What a great find at the thrift store! Lots of magazines with new 'old' ideas! So glad to hear Gramma is doing so well! I have Maryz's cell phone number.. .I'll text her with the news and she can share.
Lori... a friend of mine made wall hanging for her church will all purples.. kind of a braid pattern, it was stunning. Or how about lots and lots of flying geese. I LOVE purple-when I was a kid my bedroom was painted purple and I had purple carpet. My dad painted my room for me and he wrote "I LOVE MA" with the paint roller on one wall... even after he painted over it.. you could still see it!
Velda... If I would decide to go to over nights at work.. I could be playing in scraps for 7 days straight and never have to come up for air! I managed to get one organized.. but there's MORE. I've been cutting most of mine into strips and charms. There's an easy tote bag "recipe" at MSQCo. and so far I've made 4 of them! Made 2 to match my niece's quilts! Even found some ugly ones! those I tossed!
Vicky.... 25 phone calls? Sounds like my work day... but that shouldn't happen at home!! Bet you are ready for a "Calgon, take me away"
Sherry.... do you wear a fancy hat while you watch the horse races? There was a thing on 60 minutes about the other night about a female jockey in the races. Very interesting! Hope you are feeling better from that cold. I'm expecting to get one any day here, with the temps changes up and down... that's when I get sick...
Jules... enjoy your day in the sunshine! I have a wonderful deck on my house, but I can't tell you the last time I sat out there and just relaxed and soaked up the sun! I've tried, but I just can't sit still when the weeds are growing and the lawn needs mowing.
Maryz... prayers continue for Jim. I bet he's anxious to get outta there!!! How nice that Terry got to be with him the whole time. Your friends are headed up to Alaska too? When we drove up there, there were sure lots of campers and 5th wheels on the road. Scary in some places where the road is narrow, but what a beautiful area to drive through.
Rosebud... YEAH FOR THE WEEKEND!
Working late shift today, so I think I better get a couple messes cleaned up before I have to shower up. Still need to finished "hoovering" upstairs - only did part of down yesterday
There's still time to sign up for NAME THE BABY contest over in swaps!
Have a GREAT day every body!

Good morning!
Well today is a very quiet one here - Ethan is with his mom - she took the day off - but she wants me to come down and play at her house - we will see - Michael is done with work for the week too - so we may go and spend some money and get the bookcases ordered.
DS4's interview went well - they are hiring 2 more officers for the department and interviewed about 20 candidates for those positions. We will see on that one too.
Ethan is now 16 months old and starting to parrot all that we say - he is adding 2 or three new words every day - warned Michael about his sailor's phases - LOL
Tonight is the Ward campout - not to far from here - I think that we will take our dinner down there with them and sleep in our own bed here - I have a tent, but no mattress to sleep on and my bed is so much more comfy! LOL It will be fun.
Well I must scoot and feed Michael -
Have a great day
Hugs

Re: Friday, May 3rd
Good morning! I don’t think we got quite to freezing last night, and the temps started rising after midnight. We are at 43 looking for a high of 47. It’s still going to be chilly tonight… We had crazy snow/sleet/rain much of the afternoon and evening. The snow was huge flakes mixed in with the other precipitation, and all of it was moving sideways in the strong wind. I kept my humming bird feeders full for the feeding frenzy of a bunch of little male birds. They were sure scrappy—even with plenty to go around for all! One bird was a real bully—I’ve never seen one so mean. He got one little guy pinned down on the feeder and was really beating him up. We rescued the little guy and let him get some sips and compose himself. I really wonder if he made it through the night. I’m so sorry we didn’t see the feeder fracas before it got so serious…
Sherry—I’m with you on the judging criteria… Years ago when I was in a guild, a speaker talked to us about the judging and what they looked for. I’m still not sure they always go by “the rules”… Locally, I still think it’s a personality contest like in junior high school! Yes, you do need new quilty friends!!! Wish we were closer to go with you!!!
Tina—I’m hoping that all will be well with the next ultra sound!
Chriss—what a find!!! So much fun to look through the magazines—plus books and the hexagon/triangle templates!!! It doesn’t get much better than that for under 50 cents each!!!
Velda—I think you need to replenish your stash!!! LOL!!! Your scraps will be getting lonesome! If you need help hiding stash in an RV, MaryZ has a bunch of creative ideas!!! I like the LA Totally Awesome products at Dollar Tree—great cleaning supplies!!!
I got no sewing accomplished yesterday. DH wanted to make a run to town, and I went along. I got four perennial plants at Ace and will plant them in the next couple of days (warmer day)… My DSIL from across the road asked me to get their DGS at the bus and keep him until they got home as they had an emergency trip to Oklahoma and Joplin (MO) for their DS. We made cookies—chocolate chip cookies with lots of sprinkles! Then we watched a movie, and I made supper for him. They made it home around 7:00 p.m. What a day they had!!! I was glad to be there to help out…
Cole is doing well—still on pain meds but glad to be home. School is out in a week or two, so I don’t think he will try to go back this year. Odie is just about back to his normal, bouncy self. His stitches come out Monday. He should have had the cone of shame, as he chewed off the little plastic stitch protectors when I wasn’t watching him. Wonder what the doc will say about that!
Have a great day, Everyone!!! I will try to check back later…

It's me again!
I have a birdie update: This is the bird that is nesting in the wreath on our front door. She's got at least 3 eggs in there and is sitting almost constantly. We put a blockade on our path so people will use the garage entrance, and I put a towel over the door window because every time we went down our stairs on the inside, it freaked her. So now we wait. I think 2 weeks should do it . . .
SHARONA - I'll give Bill your message. He so loves to "convince" people of the wisdom of his personal knowledge. lol!! (sometimes, though, he has yet to convince me of things!)
JANA - I, too, find that a geological phenomenon has taken place in the last 30 years. That ground is a LOT harder to sleep on that it used to be!!
KARLENE - It sounds exciting to be gearing up for such a change in your life. Wonderful that David is on board with this. Jim got the bulldozer quilt, Albert (bladder cancer) got the log truck quilt, and Gene got the Alaskan Aurora Borealis with his house and semi-truck in the foreground. You made me laugh when you said, you know them by their quilts!
SHERRY - glad you are feeling better! Say hi to your jane for me. Mine is still beating on the lid of her plastic box! lol!
MARY Q - I'd be honored to be the bearer of your news to our group!! I'll be sure to keep my phone with me all the time. When I don't have pockets, I tuck it into my bra. Though my SIL did point out the camera feature could be risky! lol!! So - have you ever worked nights? I did for 20 years. . . . 7 in a row is a LOT. Even with 7 off.
I gotta go! Walk time!

Good morning/afternoon to all
Yesterday was a long day for me starting with a windy drive to Ridgecrest to pick up the batting that I need for Jackie's quilt. She asked for a thick batting and with the Dream Cotton Supreme batting you can definitely tell is the thickest. She asked if I could double the WnN batting and told her no but this is the next best choice in which you do not need to. I did make a quilt many moons ago where I doubled the batting. Did not like it at all. I did find a brown wood fabric that I liked for my Cabin Blocks but then picked up the Hawaiian Peanut Butter Pizza and came home before I got into any more trouble - LOL!!!! I am trying to save up for my computer to go with my LA.
I am two borders away from finishing Linda's quilt - YEA!!! McKenna Ryan's quilts are Stunning and it has been FUN working on this one. Definitely very detailed but FUN!!! The store had one hanging up that was equally stunning with lots of flowers. It was stippled which was OK but to me it took to much away from the intriquet detail and colors of the pieces. I am glad Linda didn't want hers that way. I will take pictures of course for you all to see.
Courtney has officially ended her 2nd year of Pharmacy school - YEA!! and she if off to England leaving on Monday. Wishing and praying this trip will bring her much needed stress-relieving FUN!!!
So I am off to finish the borders and finish getting the Lotto blocks ready for the mail. IT's FRIDAY!!!!! Hope you all have something FUN planned for the weekend.
HUGE HUGS!!!!
P.S. I love that Camper!!!!

Great video Chriss. I will bookmark that one. Also great finds at the thrift store.
Jules a trapunto bag sounds pretty. I've never done trapunto. Have fun.
Maryq, working nights is very different. It does take some getting used to.
Miriam it's had to believe there's snow and rain and cold temps around. It's 95 today and it was ove 90 yesterday. I'm ready for winter again and it's not even summer yet.
Well the coffee is ready. Hope you all have a wonderful evening.

Good afternoon everyone.
The new hire meeting was about benefits. I have our medical from AT&T so I filled out a waiver. This job is going to work out fine. I am working 24 hours a week. Not bad at all. Today I came home and had lunch with hubby before he went to work. Then I ran to Walmart and grocery shopped. Came out of there under $100. Highly unusal. Tomorrow I have to take the furbabies to the "spa" and run to the quilt shop. Then I can pre-wash my red fabric and get back to the borders on Jacob's Ladder. Plus I have to find backing fabric. Have a great evening everyone.
