I bring Bella, our new dog, home from the vet today. She is doing great after the spading surgery. My youngest DD is home from school with an earache. She's sleeping and being a teenager, probably will be sleeping all day.
I know I've whined about the shirt quilt since Sunday, I have the sections layered ready to quilt. For some reason I dreaded making this and still do. I don't like making a quilt I don't like! I know I'll put extra effort in it just because I don't want it too look like I didn't like it. Make sense to anyone but me? LOL

Good early afternoon from dreary, rainy, SW. Pa....I'm beginning to sound like a broken record...It's only in the low 40s now with rain but turning much colder with snow for tonight and tomorrow....

I'm to have card club tomorrow and I need to run out and get some of my goodies....With my luck, I'll be ready and it will be snowy and no one will be able to come....Or I should say, with DH's luck, he'll get to eat it all....

I also need to stop and see one of the DGDs...She's leaving to go back to school and I want to give her the place mats I made....

DH just took down the outside likes, I guess he thinks Christmas is over...That could be a hint to finish un-decorating the inside...Oh well, one of these days.....

Enjoy the rest of the day, everyone....

Pulled out my box of strips and think I will work on a scrappy string quilt. Looked up a couple of patterns and found one at Quiltville.com that I liked and looks super simple. I have never made one before so it will be an adventure.

Good Morning Everyone

Surprise...it is raining again. Between all that snow and now the rain we are going to float away. There is already some serious flooding in various areas. It doesn't efffect us but it is so sad for those who have to deal with it.

Max and I got a walk in yesterday and if there is a break in the rain we will again today. I was just thinking I could make him a raincoat with a little hood. We get cabin fever if we can't get out and walk. A little exercise really helps my attitude.

Got six more pillowcase cut out yesterday and the pinwheel quilt sandwiched. Went to the movies, I haven't been for awhile, and saw Valkyrie with Tom Cruise. It was very good

SewSew - good luck with the string quilt. I think that will be my next project. I have the noodles from the swap that need to be used.

Sewbug - It is hard to work on something you don't like. By the time I get done with any larger quilt I am always sick of it. I have to push myself to finish

Joanne - I agree with Carolyn you should post a picture of DH's project. My DH makes knives and the leather sheath to hold it. Gives him something to do in the evenings.

momof6quilts - Sounds to me like it would be a good thing for DD driving test to be cancelled. It is bad enough to drive on ice without being tested in the process

GP - I found a site that had several fancy quilt borders. They looked pretty nifty. I might have to try one. I am sure it would add a great deal to a quilt.
