Sandy, Last January while my DH & I were visiting his daughter in northern AZ we 'stumbled' on a bald eagle. We were on our way home, just driving down the road when I about swallowed my teeth. What a site!!! We tried to get close enough to get a picture, but every time we were close the little (little, ha!) bugger took off. I was so shocked to see it flying across the road I almost couldn't tell my DH what I had seen. The very first time I ever saw one was in a zoo. I was an adult and everybody probably thought I was a nut because as I stood there looking at that beautiful bird I started crying. I still get tears in my eyes when I think about that day. What a magnificent bird, pictures in books just don't convey their grandeur.
