The gray birds are sandhill cranes. They are almost always in pairs. They sound like I think a prehistoric bord would sound. They have a very loud, warbling "honk". The one in the picture is going after a nest of fire ants. I thought I had killed that pile but now I'll have to go check it again.
The white bird is an egret of course. They always seem to be alone. There's also a large, black diving bird that swims like a duck, but with only it's head and neck sticking out of the water. Then it sits on the bank with wings held out to dry off in the sun.
