my gadabout quilt
This is the gadabout quilt I made for my mom, she still has to finish the border. I was going to do it, but she wanted to and I couldn't do anything by machine other than a straight stitch at the time. I've been thinking about doing another in these colors for me if I can find them again:)

That is great! I love the grey, you just don't see it everyday. VERY nice, Amie

That's beautiful. I've always wanted to do a red/white/gray (or black) quilt. Maybe that'll be a 2008 goal!! Yours is stunning!
I hope Tulpje sees this, she's doing a Gadabout quilt, too - in purple and gold.

Re: my gadabout quilt
Thanks everyone!:) This is still my favorite quilt I've done, at least in color scheme. I'm working on finishing the edge of an Indonesian beach hut quilt, and that's definately in the running for my fav. I had the fabric for almost a year, just sitting around while I stared at it trying to decide what to do with it. It took me that long to put them together, and even then it was accidental. I know I wanted to use the red and white in the quilt, but I didn't pick the greys until I dropped the red on them. Sometimes, accidents really do pay off:)

I added a folded border that wasn't in the pattern, but it didn't turn out like I wanted it to. Anyone else doing this pattern, trust me, folded border that covers the edge is a bad idea. That was the only place my points met perfectly and now no one can see it:)
