Felted wool

Inka made this felted wool piece that measures 23" square. Has anyone every tried this?

Hers is beautiful and I have seen this done on some of the crafting shows but I don't think that I could do this well.
I have seen them put it on a hat form and use the felted wool for hats. Beautiful color combination too.

What tools did she use. I tired to get the CLOVER brand equipment in Denver to do this, but didn't seem to find it, but then, I didn't get out much. Very Nice .

I made this many years ago when I was attending a special fine arts school (as a past time activity). We just cut the wool with sissors and tore it and created the image - it was then pierced by hundreds of needles in a factory ... this being an alternative to the locally invented technique of "ART PROTIS", where the tapistry is zigzagged very densely with an invisible thread ...
