Another Quilt Ladder

Geneva2, here is a picture of the quilt ladders my husband has made. It is made in 4 foot sections and hinged at the middle. You can see it is easily made with dowels and 2x2's. It then can be used folded or leaned against the wall. This is an idea for a DH's to make if they are handy or even you gals if you have woodworking abilities. The first one he made, he made from the sides of the old crib my children slept in when babies...now I have a remembrance! lol

I also got distracted by the quilt on the bed. Is the quilt on the bottom rung a charm sq. quilt? I like framing each sq.

The quilt on the bed is a star quilt with a pinwheel center, it is next to a snowball block. Easy as can be. The pattern was in an old Traditional Quiltworks Magazine #57. It was called Patriotic Star, but I think that was only because it was done in red, white, and blue.
The square in a square are fabric squares of old prints that the Smithsonian was selling in museums around the country in celebration of old fabric prints about 10 years ago. They were a gift from a DIL. I had to add some of my own boughten prints to get enough to make a small quilt.

Wow, now that is an awesome idea! I showed my husband who has been known to play with wood himself. He liked it and I think I have him hooked to make me one!
Thanks for sharing!

calico, thanks, what a clever pattern that is on the bed quilt! I would have never guessed that snowball blocks could give you that very elaborate look of a seminole sashing.... When I make a scrap quilt, it'll be this one!!!

Thanks for posting this Calico,
I think this is one my DH could make. As I told you he is not really a wood worker. He is a gear head but maybe he can make this one. It has got to be easier than trying to drill straight holes in a round pole.

I like this ladder, too. Looks like I'm going to have a lot of ladders around my house.
