One more postcard down for the swap. This one is a paperpieced heart and frame, done in tafetta, crepe and satin. The picture is a little fuzzy, I think I was too close.

That's very pretty - I like the lavendar and purple and I imagine seeing the taffeta, crepe and satin up close really makes it special.

I have never mailed one, but according to everything that I have read and heard you can. My craft book states that you should ask for the card to be hand cancelled so that it does not get messed up by the machinery. If they are highly embellished then you can put them in an envelope and mail them like that.

Great Job - I have made a few and have mailed them, just regular mail, the recipients have gotten them and they have not been torn up. You do have to make sure they are the correct size 4"x6" and that it will be able to go through the sorting machine. I usually just blanket stitch my design on, no extra frills.

OMG that is adorable! I will have to try those at holiday time. Do you have an embroidery machine, or the fancy stitches on a regular machine? Mine would do that if it weren't too big, I think.

I have a Baby Lock Espire and it has lots of decorative stitches to choose from. My Pfaff also has lots of decorative stitches that would work because the postcard is only 4X6 inches so you don't need very large stitches.
