A Quilters Snowflake

Post by Klayne » Sun Jul 22, 2007 1:46 pm

This is a quilt called, "A Quilter's Snowflake" I made and sold this quilt to a man that wanted it made for his sick wife. He worked with my mother on the Railroad, I never did meet him, it was just through my mom. He found the pattern and told mom that he didn't care about the cost he just wanted this quilt for his wife...So I worked constantly on it. I had it cut, pieced and sent it to the quilters and had it completely finished in 7 days... In the end she loved it...

Actually, in the photo, it looks black, but it is a deep plum with paisley.

Klayne, that is absolutely beautiful! I love your work!

Apart from the snow flake, it looks like a variation of the Hunters star, which is one of my "dream patterns", i.e patterns I will absolutely have to make one day... Do you remember where the man had found the pattern?

Klayne - that is just beautiful! Plum and eggplant, well any purple is my fave color. You did a terrific job on the quilt.

This pattern came for the December 2005 issue of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine. The center is a feathered star and then surrounded by Hunter's stars. The quilt in the magazine is much smaller than this one. My quilt ended up 110x110. I would love to make another one for myself someday...
