Oh, my, yes! It is no different that tame asperagus, just grows around here wild.

DH says he also likes Jerusalem artichokes, I know you eat the root, but I've never had it - it was a weed where I grew up! LOL!

I just dearly love asparagus but did not know it grew wild. I haven't heard of that kind of artichokes. Sounds interesting.

My Dad designed grain elevators and feed mills.. .quite a few in Iowa actually. How far are you from St. Ansgar? He designed a big one there years ago! If he could see that corn now, he'd be thrilled! I like to think my Dad is in the great corn field in the sky!

Mary, we are in eastern Iowa, in Louisa county. We are on the mississippi river, half way from muscatine to burlington. We are 40 miles from Iowa City, Home of the University of Iowa.

Sweet corn is ready in Ainsworth. I had a client call me this week. We are going there today and getting some, although I still have some in the freezer from last year. I am going to eat sweet corn til i drop this weekend.

We got our tomatoes in way late, but I think the first ones will be ready in a day or two!

Sweet corn is ready here, $3.00/dozen.

Mary - I'm about 3 hours south and west of Mason City. I think it took 4.5 hrs to drive to LaCrosse, WI.
