Daisy's Inspection
Just finished this little Trip Around the World for an upcoming baby and Daisy had to give it her seal of approval.
This was so much fun to make. Had it done in a day using Eleanor's method. My only concern was on each end, you have to be pretty careful that your seam doesn't wobble to the left or to the right which either pulls the strips in or makes them wider than the rest of the quilt. Did that make sense? I had to do some heavy pressing to get the strips from pulling in. Any suggestions on this problem for future reference?

Re: Daisy's Inspection
Just noticed the wrinkles in the quilt. Those are from Daisy walking on it....not from the problem I mentioned.

I have the same problem with wandering off at teh end of a seam. You just have to be very mindful of the 1/4 inch seam the whole way, esp at the ends.
Do you set your stiching before you press to one side? I notice if I don't I'll get wavy strips.

Re: Daisy's Inspection
Hi leetec....yes I did set my stitches, and squared up the strips a couple times while cutting. I really think I just tend to go off a bit with my 1/4" seam at the end of a strip. Luckily it wasn't enough to be a major problem as I was able to press it out.
One time I was making a quilt where each block had 8 strips in it. Thought it would be a piece of cake. The blocks had to be set going the opposite direction of each other. After making the first couple of blocks I quickly realized they were not the same size as far as witdth. I was maybe one thread off on each strip with my 1/4". Finally figured out exactly where to sew and it all came out fine. Just goes to show you how important a good 1/4" seam can be.

This is so cute and well done. I have to do a quilt for an upcoming baby boy so I may do this pattern.
