Darn Peggy's Idea & Horses revised
Ok Gals,
Here's the photos I promised.
This is a pattern Peggy saw on Youtube and had to share with me... and now I'm kind of addicted and have been finding perfect fabric for. It's so simple and fast! You take a 5" square, center it right side UP in the exact middle of a 10" square, then fold each SIDE over to the edge and sew 1/4". Then press open and so the same thing top & Bottom. I'll try to find the link to the tutorial and post it. But I'm thinking you could use any size background and center and you could coordinate fabrics or use scraps. I might do a practice one to see what it would take for a 12.5" block--could make a nice lotto block.
This was a layer cake I happen to have.
And here's the horses. I have enough left over FG to go all the way around it. It won't make huge quilt, may a little lap size . I've had that panel of small horses for a few years and just came across the FG fabric when I was looking for something else in the garage! And as luck would have I found a perfect piece of gold fabric in my closet that I THINK will be enough for the back!!
Here's the finished Top...

The horses are very nice. Are you going to border it? Reminds me that I need to think about a graduation quilt for DGD, who's my horse person.
I saw that YouTube video. Thanks for posting cause I'm not sure I saved it. That's a pretty line of fabric.

Neat method, Mare! Those fabrics are really pretty . I watched the tutorial. I saw a method very similar to this to shorten jeans without losing the original hem.

Mary, the horse quilt is really cool. Great fabrics.
I've seen the other one made before. It's a great way to use pre cuts.
