It's kinda crowded in my little sewing room, so it's not a very good picture.

Center is a piece of an old sheet which was cut and pieced for the backing.
Scrapes left after cutting the rectangles was sewn to the sheet to add some color to the center piece.
It was fun to put together and quick to finish.

Edited Friday to add another picture: 1/27/2023:

This one is very scrappy. Shows how we take the fabric donated and cut what we can from the pieces. Some are odd shapes and have to be squared up. Pieces show that someone maybe had sewn a shirt or dress, etc. We use what we have. Most quilts end up in countries like Ukraine. Places that need warm and comfort.
Thanks for taking a look.

Izzy: that is a replica quilt of one made by my great grandmother when she was only 12 years old. There is another whole story behind that. I posted pictures quite awhile ago. I will see if I can find them.

The original quilt is in the Illinois State Quilt Museum. My mother had donated it years ago and I decided to make a replica. I was granted a personal one on one visit to take pictures, measurements, trace out lines, etc. To duplicate the quilting design, etc.
Then after I finished my project, I surprised each of my sister's for Christmas that year with a sample block of each of the two blocks in the quilt. They were made as wall-hangings and I included a small scrapbook with the whole story about the quilt and pictures of our great grandmother, etc.
Hope that's not more than you wanted to know.
🤗

Velda, your quilt is so beautiful. Love it. I do same for the backing, sewing together pieces of fabrics. Great way to use leftovers.

I remember that quilt! What a great story! I loved reading it. Quilts are what we're all about here and this one is certainly special! You are making great use of the fabric donations for such good causes!
