Halloween quilt from a swap
Hi,
I'm finally posting a quilt I'm almost done with. Yea! I put a bat border around it. Too bad it wasn't completely done before Halloween. I'm still learning on my longarm so I have a question for the longer quilters here. What ways do you use for quilting around appliqué blocks? I'd love your idea's of what's worked for you.

Love that bat border. I did spider webs all over on one Halloween quilt. The long arm quilter just went over the applique.

Beverly I love your Halloween quilt especially your border. I usually do a lot of echo quilting around applique and throw in swirls or bubbles. Hope that helps you going forward in your quilting journey.

Love your quilt, Bev! You did such a nice job on it. Often I will use small stipple around appliqués or embroidery. Kind of makes the focal point stand out

Re: Halloween quilt from a swap
In answer to you question about designing the bat border, I did a Sue Halloween swap years ago & the pattern had a bat border. I always liked the bat border so I finally made one. I found a bat pattern I liked and then made it the size I needed & went from there.
