Lord Of The Rings -finished top

It is done! 86”x92”. Whew!! I started this project Aug 29, having done very little Foundation paper piecing. I was horrified when I saw that’s all this entire quilt was! But I gave one block a try. Then another. After the third block I was hooked. I figure I have 80 days/five hours a day/450 hours into this quilt. My grandson, Drew, had input all the way. When we get home from Texas we will quilt it with a simple meander. Any extra fabric is going into pillowcases and toss pillows for him.

Maryz

That is AMAZING! You should enter that in a quilt show... Like the Houston Show next Fall! I bet it would win a blue Ribbon!

Awwww! Love it! You sure put a lot of work and time into this. I agree, belongs in a quilt show somewhere. So many intricate details, look like pictures instead of cloth quilted. Would love to see this one in person. And the saying around the outside is a perfect finish for an unforgettable, out of this world, quilt. Hope your GS cherishes this quilt forever. So much time and love were put into it.

God bless you as you quilt, MaryZ, you make it look easy and we all know it was not easy.

Thank you all! Yes, I am glad to be done. And yes, I have emailed pictures to Drew of progress, right from the beginning. He wanted to be involved. He treasures anything I make him but this will probably top anything else if I do say so myself. Lori, thanks for reminding me. I meant to say it’s 86” x 92”

The English language doesn't have the words to say what a awesome masterpiece that quilt is. Words just fail. The labor and love in that quilt shows through. Stand up and take all the credit and bows afforded to you.
