This is my favorite so far,one I meant for etsy, but the backing puckered a bit. I am having trouble keeping my backing taut,I guess I will try some tape or clamps...so this one wont get on my shop ): The white looking part is really a pretty cream and not so white,,,
Caroline, That is gorgeous. What a pretty Christmas runner. Have you tried to baste out the wrinkles? That is so perfect for the holidays, would be a great seller.
What kind of batting are you using? My DD gave me some more densely formed type batting instead of the softer fuzzy looking stuff. I used it for some place mats and a tote bag. It is a lot easier to quilt on. I also spray basted the batting to the top and backing and let it dry before I quilt. It really helps a lot. Just some suggestions. I also got a walking foot and that seems to keep the fabric from feeding improperly. Good luck. You just amaze me with all the projects you get done so quickly. And you always seem to know just what colors go together for a WOW finish.
Thanks for the inspiration and sharing. Putting me in the Christmas mood a bit early. LOL Happy quilting. God bless, love and hugs, Shirley Mae
I have a walking foot but I use my darning foot for the free motion. I am just not getting the backing taut enough when I pin it. I dont want to use the basting spray with pets and Natalie around,so Ill try clamps or tape and see if that helps. Thanks for the compliments...
Oh, don't make us choose our favorite!!! I like this one, too! ANd the fall ones... Beautiful job on them. Did someone say puckers... I didn't notice!!! Just lovely!!!
It is gorgeous Caroline! You have a nack for coordinating your fabrics. Actually, just plain choosing your fabric seems to be something you do very well.
Like Shirley Mae, I use a very small amount of 505 spray for my backings. Also I found that if I start in the very center and work out, I can smooth a little more while FMing out to the edges. Might help, but I think your FM is very nice.
Caroline, this is the best one yet! You've selected PURRFECT colors! and I love your fabrics! Do you use any adhesive spray? I find it helps keep things behave on the underside of my smaller projects. also, your bindings look perfect. Do you hand stitch the back or machine? And what do you back your runners with? I'm working on a couple now for gifts and they are Christmas on one side and fall on the other. Congrats on such a lovely result!!
