Grandma's Dresden Plate

Post by ladyquilter5589 » Mon Jun 15, 2009 10:59 am

This is how far I am with the patches I found. I was not ready to take pictures yet but I had company and since I'm in a wheelchair I had my friends put it on the bed for me. I want to add a 7 inch white border so it can be used with a dust ruffle. I really appreciate your help because the only time I leave the house is for a Dr. app. I don't go to quilt shops or places to talk to quilters so I am usually on my own. I didn't iron the whole thing yet but I noticed the wrinkles in it. Did I do something wrong? I got the reproduction blue fabric on line. I don't think that it will be a beautiful quilt but I liked using Grandma's patches. I didn't do the corners yet. I thought it would be easy to do but I got lots of experience tearing out mistakes with the rotary cutter. That on point gave me fits. Oh well I am persistent. I will get it done one way or another. Your comments will be GREATLY appreciated. Sue

The color combination makes it look like flowers in sunshine.
Love it. I have the dresden template and am trying to get up my nerve to do it.

Very pretty. You did a great job. Those wrinkles you mentioned will probably quilt out. I think it's great that you are using your grandmother's blocks - very special.

Well, I think it will be a very beautiful quilt and if you really don't want it, I have a bed that would take it just fine. LOL Very nice and a wonderful treasure
