Quilts for Merryman House
Posted: Thu Apr 30, 2009 3:41 am
Thanks to all who made quilts for the Merryman House in Paducah. Following our class with Eleanor on Sunday, we presented the quilts to the representative of Merryman House (I'm SO SORRY I didn't get his name).
QIAD-Linda was expressing our thanks for the great welcome and wonderful hospitality that Paducah extends to the quilters. And Eleanor was getting ready to watch our Show N Tell!

homegirl/Judy provided 2 beautiful, matching quilts, one for a Mom and one for a baby or a doll!

[/img]

[/img]
Littlebit/Michelle made TWO gorgeous quilts, one of HER Day & Night quilts AND a Tossed Nine Patch with appliqued flowers.

[/img]

[/img]
itchn2Bstitchn/Jan used the Airplane pattern from the Victory Quilts book for her cute quilt.

[/img]
And Littlebit/Michelle showed us a crocheted throw that was made by her friend to be donated to the Merryman House.

[/img]
maryq/Mary sent a lovely Summer Porch quilt, from the Quilts Through the Seasons book. The blue fabrics are very calming!

[/img]
Oasis/Linda sent a cheery Day & Night quilt with cozy flannel backing.

[/img]
Here's my Nine Patch Party quilt from the Still Stripping After 25 Years book.

[/img]
Tulpje/Susanna sent this pretty blue and yellow 9 Patch quilt.

[/img]
maggiestew/Maggie and Snoopy/Carolyn made this Sailboat quilt, pattern from the Underground Railroad book. It was backed with a wonderful Tropical Fish fabric!

[/img]
The next 3 quilts were given to me in a bag at the Meet N Greet. They were made by majik47 and others (I think Wanda and her daughter) of their group of purple-shirted forum members! I hope they'll see this and identify each quilt - 2 Quick Trips and a Tennessee Waltz. I enjoyed sitting with them at the Meet N Greet, and am sorry that I did not identify each quilt with its maker!

[/img]
QIAD-Linda contributed this lively Winning Hand quilt

[/img]
And our Queen Peach, Georgiapeach/Pam made 2 beautiful, large Turning Twenty quilts.

[/img]
Thanks again to EVERYONE! The Merryman House representative said that we have blessed many women and children. He asked for a value of our donation and Eleanor estimated $3200.
Thanks to Hummingbird/Nancy for taking the photos with my sometimes balky camera - think the battery was a little weak, so the flash did not always work.
And please, if I have made a mistake, let me know and I will try to make corrections!
