A Freeing Scrap Project

My word for the year for my quilting is "spontaneous" as I spend too much time planning and making design choices.

This wall hanging isn't finished yet. This is just the top.

The strips were 1" to 2 3/4". It is about 36" square. I think I will call it "Sound of Nature"

How should I quilt it?

All but a very few pieces were already cut and sorted. I had to just choose a piece and sew. I did check that I had a not put too many the same near each other. I had to shorten some. I just made sure that the yellow, white and rust pieces were sprinkled around for sparkle.

Kathy, The first thought in my mind when I look at your quilt...RELAXING!
Oh, to just cut some strips and sew. That sounds so calm & quiet. I'm frustrated with the RV quilt, & I just tried to change DGD's name to DGS's name on an embroidery design for his quilt and the name just disappears.
Your quilt is very pretty!!

Kathy, it's so beautiful. First thing crossed my mind when I saw it was: This represents nature, forest... I agree with Lyn, it's Relaxing!

I find your art piece very interesting - but I see it flipped the other way - reminds me of a skyline, but with lots of trees around?? and I see the blue as water with the building reflecting in it... anyway here is my take on it - the yellow and black are quilting lines (not very well drawn at all :o)

How fun is this one to look at. The embroidery really ties the whole project together.

Littlebit, an interesting idea. I have even played with the idea of hanging it this way.

Littlebit, you are a genius, that is absolutely a beautiful idea. Linda
khq--I think your idea of sewing the strips and how you arranged them are beautiful.
