Our living room is very small so I use a small stool beside my chair instead of a table...I made the Dresden as a topper( also one for the coffee table)
The thread catcher was this mornings project...

You are one busy lady. I love them both & have a pin cushion/thread catcher on my list of wants. The thread catcher looks like a fairly easy pattern for me

I didnt use a pattern. I just made it up as I went along. I used some leftover kitchen tiles in the pin part...

Those are great. What did you use to weight the thread catcher? Thanks for sharing. Jo Ann

Oh Caroline how cute!!! I have a little dresden plate just like that given to me by a dear friend, Miss Pearl (she's 87). She also gave me the cardboard pattern and showed me how to hand sew it together-got home and it's NOT as easy as it looks! You did a beautiful job!!!
The thread catcher is cool! No pattern, huh? You are pretty amazing!

those are both lovely. I haven't tried a Dresden Plate yet because they look way too hard for me! The thread catcher is wonderful nice work
