Gift bottle from Inka

Post by calicopuzzle » Fri Jan 02, 2009 10:11 am

I am enclosing a picture of a fun project I made for my Biba - she is going to take a bottle of Czech wine back to England as a gift so we have clad it a bit ...

That is just the cutest. Where do you get your ideas. Do you make your own patterns? Need I say, It's another perfect project. Not a stitch out of place.

I came across this pattern on the internet - it is all in French. Unfortunatelly, there is no link on the download I have - I will have another look.
The stars are simple Lonestars - stripes (any width you like, the bigger ones eat up too much stuffing!) are being cut at 60° (6 rhombus shapes) which is easier than making the stars of 8 petals at 45°. Sew the petals in twos (possibly cutting off the "ears" when ironed), then join the pairs - do not sew to the very edge (leave a 1/4" unsewn). You will obtain a little star in the middle on the back.
Insert a ribbon when sewing the front and back panel together, leave an opening for turning the project and stuff. Enjoy!
