My Christmas gifts

While at the Antique Store in our town, my husband found this sewing box and old thread spool. He bought them and put them in my stocking. First pic is closed box and second pic is box opened with the thread spool laying on the drawer. It even came with mini sewing things in it. But my big gift was that he made me a Dulcimer. When I watch El's show on RFD channel a show about Kentucky comes on before it. Once they did a show about a man that make Dulcimers in his spare time. I said I'd like to have one and that I like the sound. So my husband made one. I have been having fun trying to play it. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow.

I hope you show your dulcimer.
I have a dulcimer. Its the common cheap one with hearts. They are fun to play with.

Nice gifts. Thanks for the education. I did not know what a dulcimer was so I had to learn and it was interesting.

That is a really neat sewing box. I don't know how those old thread spools worked. Did it attach to the sewing machine somehow? It's very interesting. Now, about that dulcimer....well, I'll have to wait and see a picture and maybe I can put the name to the face. LOL

Great find. That old spool I think attacked to a spinning wheel that the threat/yarn was wound on to. I may be wrong but seems to me like I saw one on a spinning wheel once upon a time.
A DULCIMER>>>>>>>>You are so lucky.
