This is the front of the quilt I made almost entirely with scraps. I started with two shoe boxes of scraps and ended up with this. :)

This is a close up of the front.

here is the label.

This is the back.
The front is 2 1/2 inch squares with 4 1/2 squares around the edge. The back is mostly 4 1/2 squares, some cotton, some flannel. I also used some strips that I didn't feel like cutting up. I also used leftover bindings for the binding of this quilt. I save that too just for scraps quilts. I make all my bindings 2 1/2 inches just for this purpose.
Am I obcessed? You bet!

You are so smart to do this, Lee, what a memory quilt you have. Reminds me of the squares I used to sew together as a kid. My mother made a lot of our clothes when we were young and then I started sewing clothes for myself and my dolls. I cut out squares and when I'd get a little pile, I'd sew them together on the old Singer treadle machine, then sew rows together. Great project, unfortunately, I have no idea what happened to this "work of art in progress". Haven't thought about this for many a year. Thanks for sharing your treasure, Leetec. Good Job Lee! Do you sew all your scraps together then cut them in 2 1/2 inch strips? I don't even know where to start with my scraps.

Guess I have the same question....do you do a 9-patch or sew them in lengths and then put them together, or YIKES did you sew them all together individually...the front I mean?

Love it.

Lee, that is a great scrap quilt! Quilting is all about putting pieces of fabric together and this certainly tells a great story of a quilter's journey.

WOW - you sewed these together individually, didn't you. I dont see 4-patches or 9-patches. Man, it's beautiful. Is everyone teasing you or do you really want scraps from everyone? I'll start sending mine to you if you do. I'll go pull some out of the trash right now.
