CaroleJ made me do it!

Really. I'm blaming her, that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

I was all prepared to put my log cabin obsession behind me and move on with my quilting life. Then she had to go and point out that one can make a log cabin block from the corner and build out. What can I say? I'm curious. Good thing I'm not a cat....

I can't decide if I like this one or not. The last 2 colours may be too dark?

I'm a virgo so I can be a bit perfectionistic. I didn't like the starting corner being so small so I had to make another one.

I'm not sure I like the colours on this one. Feels too dark? There's something about it that just feels a bit off. Opinions?

I now have 4 log cabin blocks so I really gotta stop and do some other style block (grin). I have blocks 12 in, 10in, 9inch and 7inch. I'll probably hang several of them in one grouping.

Interesting! The one color of fabric in the top block is a little dark but looks ok. I like both blocks. The top corner one may be a wee bit small, you are right. All in all, I like what you are doing. Very pretty colors. I love Log Cabin quilts.

quiltinnana,
do you think the yellow gold is too dark or the blue? I think the gold is a bit bold, or dark, or something but a friend of mine thinks it fits right in with the other colours.

thanks for your honest opinions,

I like the first one best. I think the gold is fine but the last green is kinda dark and don't seem to mesh with the other greens. Meybe you could change that green with a different green. Your workmanship is really good.

loretta,
Thanks for your input. The last 'green' is sort of blue. When held against some colours it shows green, against others it shows blue. I bought it on a gamble. I was 'iffy' on it at the store but it was on sale so I thought 'why not'. I think I'll take that off now that I've seen it together.

They are both pretty, but I like the first one the best! The blue may be a little dark, but it's nice to have a good contrast! I like this pattern!!

Very pretty ideas. I like both but I am a Virgo too and something in the first one just doesn't seem right. What if you switched the outer dark gold and the blue/green one. Since the two golds are going two diff directions maybe that is throwing it off. Your eye doesn't know which way to follow. Just my opinion but I like the colors you used.

The second one reminds me of a sunrise or sunset moving out from the pretty beginning gold sq. I really like the bigger sq and then the way you just contrasted each bordering color. Shows a lot of nice movement in the block. Love that one. Keep going. You are doing great and we are all learning as you do it. Thanks for sharing.

Hello again, I just went back to the top and looked at the blocks again. I was curious. What if you used a 4-patch square in the corner and then built each bordering row from those 4 colors? Just a thought. May be I will have to try building a log cabin block myself. I haven't done one of those yet. I better stop thinking. I need to keep packing for Idaho. Hugs again, ShirleyMae
