current WIP - #2
I had several flying geese units just lying around. These are the geese I made to learn how to make them. Make sense? LOL
I saw a block from the BOM threads, perhaps called Lousiana? Just LOVED the block. So I ended up with my geese in a block and 2 blocks laying around in colours/fabrics that I liked but with no real purpose.
I got to thinking if we could use the special batting to make potholders/trivets why not turn a table runner into a trivet? This way you can have all the dishes right down the center of the table.
So here we are. The top is done in fall colours and I backed it quickly with Christmas fabric to get more mileage out of the project. I will probably add a bit more quilting to it but I'm quite pleased so far.

Any suggestions for binding colours? Something that will work with the back and front?

I love it! Glad to hear I am not the only one who mixes fabrics like this.

I really like both sides. Very pretty pattern on the front. Since it is christmasy on the back, what about a pretty autumn red or gold for the binding? Just a thought. Thanks for sharing. I like the idea of a trivet style table runner for all the hot dishes in the middle. Great idea!!!!!
Thanks for sharing. You have been busy. Hugs and God's blessings, Shirley Mae

Very nice, I think a gold binding would look good.
