Top of Birthstone quilt

Thanks to all that helped me figure this out. I only have the top done. If I decide to quilt it by hand then it will take a very long time. I'm still thinking about how to quilt it.

Man, great job on your gem quilt. I think you should quilt in more facets on the gems with metallic or shiny thread. Notice I said 'you' - I wouldn't have a clue how to do what I just said. But the idea just popped into my head when I saw your lovely quilt.
