My "Turning Twenty" inspired by Nancy's

I was so inspired by Nancy/Humminbird's Turning Twenty that I just couldn't wait to get the book to play with the concept. Next week I hope to check it out from our quilt guild library.

Until then, I didn't want to wait so I took a good look at Nancy's and sketched out what I thought were good proportions.

My DD has laid them out for me. I would lay them out differently, I think. I will also be making more blocks with light squares. I particularly like the cream fabric with gold treble clefs. I'm going to buy more of that.

I think it is currently a bit heavy on the green. I love the reddish burgundy colour fabric.

Overall, I'm pleased. For not knowing anything about the pattern I've come up with something I like. The blocks are 18" so I'm thinking they will become 2 lap quilts.
