Re: QIAD'S Country Lanes Quilt
That is a beautiful quilt Pam. Sounds like mom was thrilled.
The baby quilt I did with Minkee on the back came out great. I was really scared. I put it on my longarm and luckily I put it the right direction and had no trouble at all. But like I mentioned in that other thread I'm kind of concerned about the binding. Will follow your advice. I had been thinking about sewing the binding on the backside and bringing it around to the front and then using a decorative machine stitch to sew it down. Hope to work on it this weekend. That baby is getting older by the minute.

Re: QIAD'S Country Lanes Quilt
Thanks, grammy. It should arrive to mom today, she hasn't received it yet! LOL! Yes, I was pondering how to do the binding on mine with the minkee, too. I thought of doing it how you described by bringing it to the front and stitching it. I was nervous about it. But, it took the handstitching really well. Like I said, I'd never heard of using the silk thread, but it worked real well for me and made it a lot easier on the hands to sew thru the minkee. Let me know how you decide to do yours and share tips you find!

Beautiful quilt! I have a nice flower print piece of fabric that I have considered using the Irish Chain to wrap around it. Your blue flower print inspired me to get going on it. Did you use a border print for those border pieces?

Your quilt is just beautiful. Can't wait to see your pineapple quilt. It will be wonderful - how could it be anything else when Loretta did the instructions!

Re: QIAD'S Country Lanes Quilt
Thanks so much! I do plan to make more of this pattern because it was so much fun! Now that I've made this one I'm seeing all sorts of fabrics in my stash that would look good in it. Like, these huge scale flowers that are too gorgeous to cut up and I've got some pretty toiles, etc... Oh....so many quilts, so little time! LOL! I really do need to quit my job, it's cutting into my quilting time just waaaay too much! LOL!

Beautiful! I too have a lot of fabrics with large flowers (which I love) but I certainly wouldn't want to cut them all up. This is a perfect pattern. I've always been in love with blue and white quilts. Thanks for sharing!
