I got pictures of the cranes today, and an egret. He's far away though. The alligator swam by too but I didn't get a picture since I didn't want Joey following me out to the lake.

I'll post the pics in a new thread.

Last time we had that crap,(ice that heavy) was after 3 days of rain so guess what we just had 5 inches of rain, creeks and lakes overflowing into roads, Christmas decorations in town under water. Dont need the freezing weather now would be like a ice rink but worst.
People don't know how to drive on ice ,I don't like it myself can not control truck on curves ,you turn they don't. So sorry , looks pretty from a window view , hate living in it. Light lines snaps here,no electric no heat. But the deer feed them you may have to have a pit-cookout. Be save Nadine and be careful. Keep snacks around to chew on.

Bev, glad you still have electricity (since you're posting, I'm thinking you do).... We didn't get as much ice, and more snow.

Be careful tonight, looks like it's already there!

We're going to get snow (I hope from this storm), instead of the ice!

We had more rain overnight last night and the ice is even thicker now. About 12 midnight we lost our electric until 11:30 am today. I had lots of sewing to do but found some things to do without electricity. My dh brought in this heater thing that is hooked up to a gas bbq bottle I swear it looks like a bomb! I didn't want to light it so I just dressed warm. My mother called from AZ and I told her the my dh left a bomb looking thing in the kitchen for me to light to get heat she just kept laughing. I didn't light it I just kept busy. I was so happy when the electric came back on it was out for almost 12 hrs. My ds and dil and little Zach came over tonite to take showers and eat with us their electric has been out since 7am Sunday morning. I'll be glad when this storm leaves! Bev

It's so pretty - when you don't have to go out in it.

Beautiful pictures. You may not believe it but in 1968 on Jan. 9 we had just such and ice storm. Yep. I remember the date exactly because we had just moved into this house on Jan 1 and our DS#1 was staying with his grandmother so he could finish the first semester of 2nd grade at his old school. His birthday is Jan 10 and I couldn't get over a long bridge to see him on his birthday. We both remember that birthday.
You all stay warm and inside.
Hugs

OH MY....that is just scary. Those ice storms are so deadly. It's amazing how something so beautiful can be so destructive. I'll take the snow any day.

That snowman picture is priceless. Would make a cute Christmas card...well maybe not cute to you all who are suffering through this.

Your ice on everything looks like our backyard a few winters ago here in Michigan. We had no heat for about 4 1/2 days. We do have a wood burner that helped, but it takes electricity to circulate it, so we were back to square one. No one knows or realizes how cold it is until you are without. We are thinking of you and remembering you all in prayer.

Thank you everyone I think things are starting to get better. It is raining out right now. I just hope that it doesn't get any colder. My ds's electric is back on now too. I am so happy I was really worried about my grandson.
