CaRen you are such a cutie and so brave. Have you heard anything about the missing bees around the nation, or what caused their supposed demise. People don't realize what would happen if they died out.
Thanks for showing and explaing this prcess.

Ok I am intersted now that I've seen the pics. I watched Martha Stewart do hers and I thought it was soo interesting. We only have 1 acre...I was wondering how much land is needed to support hives and we use NO chemicals or fertilizer only manure and compost on our gardens. Neither of my neighbors use any either side of us too. so I feel safe with the organic part. We cannot be sure if everyone is chemical free,,but hope so.

WOW - Interesting. I remember when you got your bees last year. My grandpa had honey bees. They say that if you eat local honey that you become immune to the local pollen. I don't know if that's true or not seeings how I'm a city girl.

WoW your amazing, Queen Bee! I'm really impressed with all of your talents. I'm scared of bees but I do like catching lightning bugs ;O) Okay, that's NOT the same thing, lololol. But, it does look like fun, Amie

***I've got an update from the hiving this afternoon. One of my little honey bee girls decided to hang out with me while I was planting trees & went into my EAR!!!!! IN MY FRIGGIN EAR!!! LOL I was shouting to my Husband & then she went out. Thank goodness I didn't get stung! LOL Then he said that was a first, lol. He asked me what could he have done about it anyhow. He's right, but it was pretty freaky! LOL

I love the pictures of your bees. I remember hearing about a hive the was near a dump. The bees went over and collected pop out of the cans. The hive had root beer, orange, cherry flavored honey. So make sure you clean out pop cans or you'll have different colors honey and flavors too. I think it was at the fair we have around here. Enjoy your bees and loved to see have you take care of the bees. Katherine
