We live on the outskirts of a small town - so small, almost every house is on the outskirts! We have this field to our north, the co-op on the west, the elevator and water tower on the south... not much on the west... we're the only house on our street! LOL!!

Sounds like heaven to me! We live about 2 blocks from a major shopping mall and large regional park. During the holidays there is so much traffic lined up to get into the mall I just avoid it at all costs! lol
Country living really appeals to me but I am married to a city slicker! lol

Linda - you tree is beautiful and I loved the Cardinal story. It looks like you have the perfect corner there for your tree.
Zfatcat - darling stockings. The wool things are so cute...but I'm allergic to wool so I don't even think of working with it.

My husband and I finally got our tree up Saturday night. This is not our traditional tree, nor is it a traditional tree, but it seemed right this year.

This is the biggest tree we've ever had. We get a potted tree so we usually get a smaller one. This year we went all out, it touches the ceiling.
