Re: My quilts
Needlenoise - yes, that's our Shih-Tzu, Buffy. She's 12 yrs. old, has arthritis and is going blind. We keep her clipped really short because it's so hot and humid here.
GP - Schatzi is a cuddle bug AFTER she's worn herself out pestering Scooter (pic to come later - DH tired of fooling with me tonight). Actually I think we got gypped with her because her coat isn't silky and she looks shaggy. Someone told me that it will get better when the hair gets long. I need to take her to the groomer and I'll find out for sure then. It really doesn't matter because I love that little girl. I think she weights about 7 lbs. She is a character.

This is the patriotic quilt I'm making for DH. It's not quilted yet.

Oh, I didn't see Buffy in the pic until I read needlenoise's post! I have to watch it pronouncing Shih Tzu!!! LOL! cindyg, I think Schatzi's coat will get silkier as it grows out and she gets older. We used to have neighbors who had a little Yorkie and she didn't get the "Yorkie coat" until she was a couple years old. And my cocker spaniels didn't get "cocker coats" until they were about that age, too. I tell you, Schatzi's hair looks better than mine...I have GOT to get myself to the hairdresser soon!!!!

The unquilted top I made for my 7 yr. old nephew who loves football. The next one is a close up of the focus square.

There you are! Oh cindyg, I just wanted to hug your picture...it's so good to see you and you're so pretty! I just love it that now I can put a face with my good friend!! Your home is lovely! I really like the clocks on your mantel and the rug is beautiful. Your quilts are great! That USA red-white-n-blue one you made for your DH is so striking! Wow, good job! And the football quilt is awfully nice, too! Thank you so much for posting, I just loved seeing you and girl...you had better stop talking about yourself the way you do...you are so pretty!!!

Re: My quilts
Well it's about time! Hello to you! The quilt for your DH is superb. Sometimes it hard to come up with a 'manly man' quilt so that is perfect. My DH complains all the time about the flowery ones we have. I'm secretly making him one with fishing hooks and lures in browns and tans for Father's Day. And the football one shows you how important color value is. You nailed it!
You have a great sense of humor and I love reading your chats. Looking forward to many more quilt pics with you in them!

Re: My quilts
GP - you are too kind. I like collecting those old looking clocks but it sure is a pain when the time changes!!! LOL
Needlenoise - we got the tile floor and leather furniture because I am allergic to dogs and these are much easier to clean the dog hair off of than carpet and fabric sofas.
Eajosian - the pattern is in my head. I saw a similar one in a magazine but I wanted mine bigger and I wanted my stars to be bigger. I miscalculated it - it was suppose to be the same dimensions as a real flag but it came out shorter and I already put on the borders and was not happy with it so I added on the extra bit on one end and appliqued USA on it. I used Thangles and they work great - so easy. Using those was the best thing about this quilt. I'm going to go ahead and quilt that one but I'll make DH another patriotic one and try to do better next time. Math is not my strong suit!!!
