Re: 15 out of 20 Finished... Victory Quilt Sampler...
Nancy... they are all from Eleanor's victory garden fabrics... except the black on the scotty and my background is an ivory color I had from another line...
Carmen... I too love the Scotty... the name of the block is Fala... think of all the different coats you could put on home... heehee!
Traci... I hope you get up and runing soon!!! Take care of that hand!
Chriss... thanks on the compliments on the colors but I can't take the credit... I am following the book to a "T"... Like I said I am a little OCD... hahaha
I do have to brag a bit on DH... I had a long day with the boys and didn't feel like heading up to QIAD... so after a loooooong day at work and an hour in rush hour traffic my DH, Erik went up there on his own to get my Kaleidoscope ruler I needed for the next block... he knew I wouldn't just skip over it and come back... isn't that sweet... ok enough gushing... I just wanted to share!
Night all!
Cheers!

OH MY GOSH, those blocks are beautiful!!! I am so anxious to try some of the out of the Victory Book!! I don't DARE yet until I finish some other projects I've started. I did pick up a few FQ's on the spur of a moment a couple weeks ago. I love all of the prints in the book and would dearly LOVE to order many yards of all of them!
The book in special to me because my Dad served in the US Navy during WWII and I used to love hearing his stories. My favorite block is the airplane one because my Dad was a pilot!
Can't wait to make all those blocks... you've inspired me!

Marymargaret... I shouldn't have started either until I finish with all my UFO's but I couldn't resist... I love the blocks and the fabrics are to die for... The Airplane is my favorite also... My husband is an Air Force Navigator so we have a thing for planes too!!! We were on Active Duty for 12 years and he is still in the Reserves now... All the blocks have been fun to do so far!!! I hope to get a few more done this weekend!!!
Cheers!

I bought over 28 yards of the Victory Garden fabrics, they are beautiful, and now you have totally inspired me to begin making these. You have done an excellent job!
