This is the website that has patterns, rulers, etc. for this technique if interested if your quilt shop does not have them.

Joan ... there is no place around here for a class, but I'm going to order all the stuff on their website. I'm pretty good at following directions as long as they are well written so I'm going to give it a try. If it's too difficult, I can always get the $10 DVD.
I love how your quilted placemat looks and I like doing different techniques so this is going to be fun. Can you tell I'm excited?

You will love it! I also was so excited, and can't wait to try more things. If you order the book " Less Than Traditional: - Basic Technique", you will probably be able to figure it out (and, it includes many patterns in it - so don't buy any patterns yet). At our quilt store they had the pattern Gum Drops and Lollipops, and thats the one I wanted to do, so I bought the pattern. The patterns alone do not give many instructions, so after the class, I also bought the book - which includes that pattern, and many others, and pretty good instructions. I always loved the Cathedral Windows quilts, but never wanted to take the time that they do to make. You will need their ruler though. At our class we used the pattern "Little Nine in the WIndow" which included the templates needed for the circles and marking the fold lines, but I'm not sure what would come with the starter kits. Have fun --- joan
