For those of you who asked about the curling ribbon border: well, it wasn't difficult at all to make the curling ribbons themselves, but since I didn't have a pattern for the quilt, it was a bit tricky to figure out how long I needed them to be in order to get the corners turn where I wanted them. Also, I made the ribbon border very narrow, it is only 1-1/2 inch finished width, so the pieces were very very small... There is a pattern for the ribbons (but not for the type of corners I made) at http://www.quilterscache.com/P/PyramidB ... order.html, and there is also a QIAD book where Eleanor makes the same border. I don't know which one, but I'm sure someone else here can tell.
Cathy32078, yes, I too fell in love with the black and white polka dot fabric. Luckily, I still have some of it left, and will no doubt use it very soon...

Littlebit, the background is white and tan, the dark is black with white polka dots, and the Moomin print is actually light tan with white polka dots and black Moomin outlines.
Grammy65, yes, I think I'm most of all happy with the hearts. I was so excited when I got the idea, not the least because it gave me an opportunity to try some applique for the first time. I didn't think I could do it on the machine, though, so I attached them to the background fabric by hand. The whole idea for the sashing - the narrow strips and hearts - was really a plan B though. Originally, I had planned to just use the black and white polka dots for 2" regular sashing strips between the churn dashes, but once I laid that out I realised that it would have looked as if the quilt had black for a background. It didn't look nice at all, and a black quilt would in any case have been quite impossible to pass for a baby quilt...
