Re: Some More Show & Tell (it's almost over)
Oh Grammy. . . your work is just breathtaking!!!! I want to try the boston common now. May I copy and use yours as an example for color placement?
I especially like the children's quilts as that is what I do the most of. Is the one with the white background and colored blocks your own pattern or one that I can get?
The lattice on the last one looks a little like seminole, which I love to do, but not sure. Keep posting, they are inspirational!

Oh Grammy!!! Every quilt is just beautiful!!! Love them all. Are you sure that you aren't a professional? Who is the mystery person holding all the quilts?

I love your quilts! WOW. I wish I had signed on with this group a long time ago! Now when I have to miss a quilt show I won't feel so bad!

Eajosian...the pattern for my son's quilt is Fons & Porter's "Buzz Saw." It was in their January/February issue of 2000. My that was a long time ago. But you may be able to get the pattern on their website.
Oasis...Of course you may copy the picture. I am flattered.
The baby quilt with the blocks was a pattern in a quilt magazine. I have the picture, but it doesn't say which magazine. All you really do is cut 100 rectangles 2.5" x 4.5" out of whatever colors you want. Then cut 100 2.5" x 2.5" squares in your background color. Sew your background squares to your colored rectangles and then place them opposite of each other in strips with 20 units in a strip. Be sure and press the strips in opposite directions for easier connecting of each row of strips. I'm sure you can strip piece this somehow.
The border on the quilt you are referring to is the same border in Eleanor's book STARS ACROSS AMERICA. It is a ribbon border which is on page 52.

Yes, it was a lot of fun to do the Boston Commons. I took a class and had the top completed by the end of the class. It goes together a little strange. I'm not sure which method the instructor used, but I think it was Eleanor's way or very similar. Lots of strips.
