Such pretty rag quilts. Love the stars. Are they appliqued on? The nieces are going to feel so special and hug these little cuddly quilts. Thanks so much for sharing. I too would like to know how you do your batting. Or since it is flannel, do you even have to use any?

I use either batting cut approximately 1" smaller than the fabric all the way around and sew them together with an "X" I have even used a layer of flannel instead of the batting at times, it works just about the same.

Almost forgot, you have to clip the edges about 1/2 inch apart on all the seams facing upward then when it is washed and dryed it really raggs

These are great!

I have made rag quilts with and without batting. The ones that dont have batting are more lightweight, sort of like blankets, but still very warm and cozy.

Thanks for the idea! I have a tub of batting pieces to go in the inside... I just need flannel.... add that to the list!
