Susanna, I like to Tulip quilt but I absolutely love the log cabin and flower quilt hanging on the wall. Both are beautiful - great colors. What magazine did you get that pattern from?

Cindyg,
The pattern for the 'Garden Patch', made with log cabin blocks, is on the front cover of 'The Quilter Magazine' July 2007.

Susanna, they're beautiful! I love both the tulips (do they remind you of Holland, LOL?) and the log cabin with the flowers!

It's wonderful to see your work in progress - can't wait for the finished quilt.

Oh my gosh, Susanna, I have a copy of that magazine...when I saw your log cabin and flower quilt, I thought it was the same one from the cover! You did a lovely job!!
That pattern is a pretty one, isn't it? I am wondering when I will find an excuse to make one! I have always loved the log cabin anyway, and the flower squares look pretty easy to do. I also like that the blocks are fairly large so the quilt comes together faster

Re: Quilt pics
*smile*
It was the first time for me to do log cabin blocks.
All together I believe it is close to 1000 pieces.
But very easy to sew together.
The blocks are 10x10.
16 Cabin logs and 15 flower blocks.
3 borders.
I machine quilted it. Some days I am not so happy with it because I know I still made a lot of 'oopsks' in it.
I have pokies showing on the white in my meandering.
I also learned now that in the ditch really means IN the ditch.
*smile* I made so many improvements while making this quilt.
AND I had fun doing it. Which is the most important part of quilting.
