Great quilt - it really does look like one from the 30s, which I happen to remember pretty well.

luv_2quilt - that quilt is fabulous!! How long did it take you to do all those Sue's? I love all the colors and the decorative stitching you did on them. Your lattice and cornerstones look perfect. Beautiful quilt.

What a beautiful quilt. Did you do all the Sue's by hand or machine. They look perfect. You are quite the quilter.

LOVE Sunbonnet Sue!

I have a Sue quilt that my grandmother (who passed in 1956) started before WWII. My Mom's remembers that it's the first quilt Gramma ever made that she actually bought the fabric specifically for the quilt. Every other quilt was made from scraps on hand. When Mom gave it to my, Gramma had already applicqued the Sue's by hand and had sewn them the patches of muslin. I put the squares together with strips of muslin between and muslin on the back and then had some little old ladies hand quilt it for me. This was about 16 years ago, and I still feel quilty that I paid them so little to do it ($50.00), but I didn't know any better at the time.

Some day I'll post of picture of it. There were two squares left over so I made little pillows to match!

I love Sunbonnet Sue! I think any little girl would love this (and a lot of big ones, too). You did a great job! It's beautiful.
