Mequilter, I love the pics! Even the Flamingos. Corn looks beautiful. How many acres do you have? Beautiful scenery.
Here, there is a Company that you can hire for a Birthday or special occassion. They fill your lawn with Flamingo's or Penguins. It is a hoot to wake up one morning & as everybody is leaving for work or school, they get to see your front lawn filled with these plastic creatures. I think they have pigs too. LOL

Love the flamingos! My Dh and his family had a running joke for years. Flamingos would just appear in someone's yard once in a while. They got creative and made nests with Leggs eggs. Remember those? Now when I see some little trinket or night light or whatever with flamingos on it I have to get it for my sweet mother-in-law.

gardenquilter......I'd love to have a visit from you. The door here is always open!! We have 41 1/2 acres here. The corn in the pictures was planted by our neighbor for his cows. He rents the land from us. We do have an acre of sweet bi-colored corn in the back of the house and that's almost as high. Can't wait to pick the first batch.....all of the girls at work are asking when it'll be ready. I bring some in for each of them and a few of my "favorite" customers. Wasn't too sure if I'd like living in the country after being in the city for all of my life. There's no way I'd trade it now for the city life. Glad you're enjoying the pictures!!

Re: view of countrylife in the boonies
I actually took pictures of the fields around our house today. Mainly they were of the soybean fields across the road. We live on a famr that has 100 acres tillable (meaning they can be planted for crops) that has been in our family for over 125 years. The area around us is starting to develop so I am afraid that within 5-10 years, there will houses or something across the road. Don't you just love country life? I have seen lots of unusal critters around the cornfields but NEVER flamingoes.
PS Where is Newfranken,WI? I had family from the Ladysmith area.
