Beautiful items, lucky recipients!!!!!!!!!

Couple questions, if you don't mind sharing.

What is a candle mat? assume it is to hold a wide candle, but can you set the candle right on the mat? Did you use batting inside?

What kind of fur did you use for the stocking?

thanks, hugs, carol/kittyquilt

Some questions were asked: Here's the answers just in case anyone else was wondering.

The fur in the Christmas stocking is some I bought several years ago. I happened to find it on the top shelf in my sewing room! There is no label. It's not real, I can tell you that!

The candlemats are to place beneath candles to protect your table from scratches or wax. They do have batting inside. They are just little 12" quilts, basically. So you would treat them just as you would a larger quilt.

And now, to go make some more stuff!! HO HO HO!!!

Very nice. I have decided I am making holiday gifts this year, but they will not be Christmas. My DIL is getting Halloween, her mother Fall, and my neighbor Easter. I just thought I would shake the holiday seasons up a little this year.

Mary, thanks for the good tips and info.

Ruthie, love your idea. I don't do much holiday gift sewing, other than secret pal swaps, (hint, hint for some more holiday swaps) LOL. However, I have decorations in my house for just about all the holidays--don't take them down, then I'm always prepared. Or maybe that's just that I don't have room to pack things away????????? OR????????

Mary, Such a pretty assortment of Christmas items. You have been busy. I know I need to get busy but just can't seem to get a large block of time to work on things and then have to put them away.

I really like your ideas for the smaller items. Very cute but don't take so much time. You did a lot of wonderful projects. Thank you so much for sharing the pics and the inspiration. Never heard of candle mats but know several folks who would certainly use them. Great idea for those lonely 12" blocks I have left from a BOM project.

God bless, Happy Quilting, and hugs, Shirley Mae
