Exciting for sure! I'm glad you were smart and backed down the trail when you saw them. Great pictures under the circumstances...not sure I would have been able to get my camera out. LOL

My DH was taking the pics, I was behind him! We were so "brave" because there was knowledgeable young man with bear spray between us and the bear. Still, we were scared enough that my husband didn't take time to focus the picture, just kept snapping away as we backed up. This is a black bear, not a grizzly, although they were around too.

What terrific pictures! I wouldn't havew remembered to take pictures until AFTER the bear was gone. It is an experience that you will never forget. Just like first encounter with a skunk - no spray or smell just a funny looking kitty sniffing my sister's and my feet.

They are so magnificent & so powerfuil. I'd love to see them out in the wild like that, just being bears but yikes!! You're food :) Glad you're OK & had the chance to take pics too!
