Good Job! Your daughter will love it. The fabric combines some nice colors. I love brown and turquoise together.
Like Cyberspacequilter, I'm going to fashion a few pockets for certain items also. Isn't the fusible fleece wonderful? I plan to use it for a number of other projects. So easy to practice free motion with.

Re: My first Charm Square Tote
Thank you everyone, for your wonderful compliments!! Tho' I've been sewing forever it seems, this bag was a bit of a challenge, using the fusible fleece. I was so inspired by you Michelle, your bags are so wonderful, that I just had to give it a try. I tried the free-form stipple quilting on the inner pockets, and gave up (I guess I need to practice more on my old machine)! I decided to do the outline stitches on the outer bag, and did a diagonal, diamond shape stitcing on the lining. I do OK with straight stitches. Also, I made the front pocket a bit smaller and made the flap look like a real envelope. All in all, when done, I do feel it was fun and will like making more.

Dawne, I definitely have plans (and a few charm packs) for more in the future. This pattern is one of the best basic ones for the totes, and I can see many possibilities, some with machine embroidery, some with strips or panels alternating with squares, oh so many different things you can do. The fleece really gives it good body.
If you're looking for the pattern, I found the best price at Honeybeefabrics.com. It was one of the lowest, and though she has a basic shipping charge, if you only order the pattern, it is a lot less. Total cost was $5.00 plus 2.99 shipping. Fast service, too.
Also, Walmart has the fusible fleece, identical to the Pellon one, for a lot less. I bought 4 yards, so I guess I will be making more totes.
