Rose--that quilt is incredible. I agree both of these quilts need to be entered into shows. I am in awe and humbled by the talent in both of these works of art

Linda(Rose92)- Thanks for sharing your beautiful quilt and your touching story... are all the animals painted onto the quilt? It is gorgeous!

Thanks for all the nice comments guys! I appreciate it... I wasn't too happy with the quilt in the beginning... I don't have a pattern so being "creative" has been a little out of my comfort zone... but Jake has been helping me with the creating process... he calls it our quilt!!! He is so funny... demanding but funny!

Cheers!

Alina, I love your choice of fabrics, it gives me a sense of being under water with all its peace. I can hardly wait for you to finish it.

My mother painted the fish/sea life animals onto muslin, then cut them out. I appliqued them on the quilt. The quilt was not quilted in the picture. The plan was to send it around to all the girl cousins to each quilt part of it before we gave it to our cousin Shel. All in all, 8 related females had a part in this quilt.

Alina,

what a great depiction of under water!! It just makes me feel like I need scuba gear. LOL I would have done the same thing with the kelp, but it looks great. How fun for you to have Jakob help design the quilt. You are a little applique diva aren't you!!!

Rose,

such a sweet story. Maybe your Mom has seen the finished quilt........It's beautiful, all the blues. Those big fish and the crabs on the bottom do look very real!
Have Fun,
