Both are very nice, but I'm drawn to your YBR-I really like how you did the borders on that one. Great job!

I really like the white border and the pieced border on the first quilt and the second one reminds me of confetti!! Nice job on both of them!

Thank you for your kind comments. DGD helped with the Shooting Star by trimming those pesky triangles off and she also laid out the blocks and approved the border.

I tried something new for the corners of the border on YBR...I tried to get them to look mitred by doing HST's. I know it will work, but will need to keep trying to make it look better.

Wonderful quilts. I have the YBR pattern and have never used it. Your quilt makes me want to get it and do something with it.

I was just wondering what a pieced border on a scrappy quilt would look like? I am in the process of sewing my blocks together and am thinking about the border. I think I prefer the plain border on the second quilt. Just a personal preference, both of your quilts are great. Thanks for the help!

ctherrie, I think the scrappy border on the YBR might look better if the last white border was a little wider. It looks a bit 'unfinished' in this state....at least to me. It's a wonderful way of using up the left over fabric and it ties in the border with the main body of the quilt.

I'll definitely do it again, but maybe try it with a larger separation.......
