Turning Twenty for cancer friend

I am trying to figure out how many blocks it will take to make a lap quilt in turning twenty for a sweet lady in our community who we found out last week has ovarian cancer. I have only made one turning twenty and was given a LOT of help and suggestions from all you dear people here. I am trying to remember how many lights and how many darks to use. Mine was just made with what I had so it 4 different fabrics.(lights, mediums and darks). thanks so much. Any suggestions on colors would be great also.

I think they suggest 20 Fat Quarters to do this in. I've made one for my son and used flannel. He loves it!

20 fat quarters makes a good sized quilt! We made Christmas quilts last year & used 9 fat quarters & put an extra 4 inch border around the whole thing. Nice sized lap quilt.

If you use 20 fat quarters it makes a pretty big quilt. Mine measures 78" x 62", and has no borders. (Mine was the Turning Twenty Again, so that might make a difference.)
