I love it. I love the colors too. DH would like this pattern, he likes the star patterns and since this is called the "hunters' star" he'd really get a kick out of this one because he is a hunter :)

Where can I find the pattern? Maybe I could make him a "hunter's quilt" for up in the deer stand or for when we gets back to camp.

Thanks everybody for their praise! This block was made of some very tiny remnants I found in my stash (I never use blue and navy, lol ...) to match the lady´s kitchen. The potholder is quite thin, it is just a decoration!
Should you wish to make this block, go to

www.hgtv.com/hgtv/shows_qlt/episode/0,1 ... 94,00.html

if you are not able to find the video any more, there certainly will be the downloadable tutorial available ...

Inka sent this to me to show the back of the star when you don't sew to the middle, but rather stop at the 1/4" from the edge. Here it is:

Inka says: the star on the reverse (when you do not sew to the edge in the middle) is clearly visible here ...

Rosebud3, there are NO Y-seams in this block! You just add the rhombuses to the middle small trapezoids, add the big triangle, join two ot these obtaining a square and then join the four squares (like in the second picture). It is matching the points (and pressing the seam allowances in the correct = alternating direction) that make this block not quite so easy ...
