Wow. I would sure buy raffle tickets for that one!

Did the quilter donate the quilting or did you have to pay for it? Do you just send the profits to the cause/charity you're doing the raffle for or do you give all proceeds?

I was thinking of doing a quilt for a raffle for the group I'm involved in but it seemed like it would just be too expensive to undertake.

We are a small group -- 11 ladies at the begining of the year. Since the blocks were scrappy, each person who made a block pulled the fabric from their own stash. We then chipped in $10 each to purchase the blue, gold and red fabric.

Last year we purchased the backing and batting from the quilter, and the quilter donated her skills. We are planning on doing the same this year.

We sold the tickets for $1 each or 6 for $5 and raised between $300-$400. We only sold tickets for about 3 months. The money raised was then used to buy Christmas gifts for two families through Project Santa.

I hope we raise more money this year.
