cindyg , the simplest way is to sew the zipper in BY HAND - using what we call the "back stitch" and then the "cross stitch" or the "applique stitich" to fasten the inner edges to the bag ... I had never believed this could be simpler than sewing the zipper by machine until I tried it out ...
