Been away

Post by cindyg » Mon Oct 01, 2007 2:53 pm

I've been away from here since lunchtime Thursday so when I had the opportunity today I came on here and just looked and read. You girls have all done a super job on your quilts. They are just beautiful and I really really enjoyed looking at them. I noticed several Twin Sisters - my mind is working in that direction for my expected twin grandbabies - hmmmm. Thanks to you all for posting and keep up the good work.

Cindy, check out Nine-Patch and Stripe, page 86 in Still Striping, just in case they are twin brothers. LOL

Hi CindyG. . . .I watched the DVD for the Double Pinwheel yesterday. El shows a nice example of how you can make two at the same time. She showed a dominant pink then a dominant blue all from cutting the double pinwheel blocks. I thought of your new twins. If both girls you could make it in peach and lavendars or both boys maybe blue and green or even red. They were vey nice. Glad you're back.

Sunsup - I don't have "Still Stripping". ***ouch*** quit hitting me on the head!! LOL I will have to get it at the quilt show.

Oasis, is Dbl Pinwheel in a book by itself? Oh, y'all have such good ideas. I'm also kicking around the pattern "Twin Sisters" in my head.

CindyG. . . .it is a book. The book has several variations/colors of the double pinwheel, a 4 patch pattern and a travel bag pattern.

You could possibly just get the DVD for the instructions. Pretty simple once you watch El make one. The DVD is where the reverse fabric blocks are shown. They make up really pretty (at least El's were). LOL

The "Still Strippin" book is a very nice hard cover book. Nice to have as part of the Eleanor Burns collection. You should get it, you NEED it I'm sure . LOL

Yep, Oasis, I'm quite 'needy' in lots of areas - LOL. I'll take care of some of those 'needs' at the quilt show. I'm sure I'll spend lots of time in the QIAD booth. QIAD will have a booth there, won't they? I think I've seen El make the Double Pinwheel quilt but I didn't pay close attention. I had no idea I'd be making another baby quilt for my own grandbaby - much less two grandbabies.
